Now I hang up this light, put it straight and flat, and set up a coordinate system for spatial measurement of this light according to my previous practice of doing evaluation. Let me show you our measuring instruments. We take two measurements, and we put them on the Z axis, 24 inches above the light, and we measure them.

As you could see that this light in the most important blue and red band is very good to meet our planting requirements, compared to the 480 to 600 band of light is less, we had better use a low power HPS high pressure sodium lamp, or CMH metal halide lamp to make up for it.
2.1. Let's measure the spatial distribution of the light quantum flux density of this light first
We placed the measuring mesh cloth with the dimensions I had drawn before directly under the light, and then measured the quantum flux density of light at each point on the mesh cloth by setting the distance between the light bead and the mesh cloth as 12 inches, 18 inches, 24 inches respectively.
The whole process is relatively tedious, the position and height are constantly changed. I have sorted out the specific measurement values for you and marked them directly on the measuring grid. As shown in the following three pictures.

Let's take the data from the above three measurements, and from the side view, we can make the following conical light distribution map.
A simple calculation method for the area covered by a plants planting light is to hang the lamp to a certain height to ensure the central photosynthetic effective light quantum flux density (PPFD) value is 150 μmol / m ^ 2 / s, within this radius, it can meet the lighting demand of seedling period.
The other way is to find the distance between the boundary and the central point with the value of the photo synthetically available light quantum flux density (PPFD) of 600, which can meet the illumination requirements of the growing period and flowering period of plants within this radius.
2.2. How much area can this plants planting lamp cover if used for plants seedlings?
The appropriate illumination intensity of plants seedlings was 200±50 mol/m^2/s. We chose a small pot with a square mouth and the size of the pot mouth was 3.93 inches (10 cm). On the other hand, ECO FARM 900W LED GROW LIGHT can cover an area of 2.11 square feet , or 200 plants.

2.3. How much area can this led light cover for the growing and blooming period of plants?
We used a medium size pot with a square cut in the growing season. From the above data, although the intensity of this lamp is particularly high, it has strong light gathering ability, that is, the illumination range is relatively small, and the coverage area is too small during the growing and flowering period. So if you are planting a large area, you need to arrange a lot of this light closely.
So in my opinion, this light had better be used at seedling stage, if want to be used at growing area and flowering period especially when flowering period, had better cooperate with a kind of HPS high pressure sodium lamp or CMH gold halide lamp, can overcome this defect.
Finally let‘s took this lamp apart to see the inside situation, let's first look at the situation of the lamp bead, from the details of the lamp bead, this lamp bead is the lamp bead of the south Korea brand SAMSUNG. This kind of light bead is the main application in the plant lamp industry at present. It has a high photosynthetic quantum number efficiency and is a lamp bead that saves electricity.
In addition, the heat dissipation is aluminum profile, aluminum plate is very thick, the heat capacity is large, aluminum radiator surface design is large enough, and aluminum profiles between grid ventilation design is also very good, can put the lamp bead as quick heat out.
Judge from a few details above, this light, true quality is good. Finally we will light the light for a period of time, to see the actual power consumption, we use an electric power testing instrument to actually look at this light is really save electricity, first of all, we look at its instantaneous power, the display is 377W, we found that there exists serious false targets, we know that in fact for high power plant light, the phenomenon is very common, but the light of the actual power is worth its price, and its PPFD parameters are also really good, the smaller power is also save electricity, if the light is 900W according to its coverage is too inefficient.
Now let's all turn on this light for a while to test the actual power consumption.
From the picture, we can see that we lighted this lamp for 282 minutes in total. The actual power consumption is only 1.72 kwh, and 24 hours is 1440 minutes. In this way, the power consumption for 24 hours a day is about 1.72 * 1440/282 = 8.78 kwh.
At $0.125 a kilowatt-hour, you could cover 26.5 square feet of plants growing space for $1.1 a day. 1 square foot (sq.ft)=0.092903 square meters (sq.m), which is the area that can cover 1.78 square meters.
If you cover growing and flowering areas, you can cover 4 square feet.1 square foot (sq.ft)=0.092903 SQM (SQM), which is the area that can cover 0.37 SQM.
If your room is 5 meters wide and 6 meters long and 30 square meters (323sq.ft), remove the non-growing area in the space, and the growing area is about 20 square meters, then 42 of these lights will be enough. The lighting time for plants growth is usually only 16 hours per day, so the real daily electricity cost should be 30.7 USD.

The disadvantages of this lamp are as follows:
(1) This light is only coated with waterproof paint, and the electric fan is used for heat dissipation, so it is basically not waterproof. If you use spray irrigation, you can't use this light.
(2) This light uses a fan to dissipate heat, so it is also not insect-proof. If you plant in a closed space, there are all kinds of mosquitoes and moths, it is easy to be sucked into the light, which will affect the heat dissipation for a long time.
(3) Although the intensity of this light is high, but the concentration of light is strong, the irradiation area is relatively small, if you are a large area of planting, it is best to cooperate with a HPS high-pressure sodium light or CMH gold halide light, so as to make up for this defect.
